For twenty years Susan M. Watkins was a newspaper reporter, feature writer, and columnist for local print and radio media such as the Martha’s Vineyard Gazette, the Elmira Star Gazette, the Dundee Observer, and WFLR–Finger Lakes Radio Network. She wrote a weekly column, "Garden Madness," for the Dundee Observer which had a loyal readership—readers wrote in claiming to have laughed themselves silly over it. Watkins is also the author of nonfiction and humor, short stories of literary fiction, dark fantasy, and horror. She was born in Elmira, New York, and is a graduate of Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Journalism. She currently lives in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York.

Watkins is the author of Speaking of Jane Roberts, Conversations with Seth, and Dreaming Myself, Dreaming a Town.
